Emily Chiu is an award-winning composer, orchestrator, and writer specializing in TV/Film, Commercial Music, Games, and Theater. Renowned for her idiosyncratic yet heartfelt approach to storytelling, she masterfully combines orchestration, songwriting, and production to create vibrant, emotionally resonant music. Her projects range from animated musicals and major motion pictures to international theatrical productions and musical podcasts.
Emily’s work can be heard in films and series by Netflix, Sony, and Paramount, as well as in high-profile ad campaigns for brands like L’Oreal. She composed the film score for the viral animated musical series Furina: ALIVE! (with script and songs by Marcus Perkins and Kim Jinhyoung), inspired by characters from Genshin Impact, and has orchestrated scores for critically acclaimed projects, including Beyond Goodbye (Netflix), Story Ave. (Sony Pictures), and The Spiderwick Chronicles (Paramount).
In the theater world, Emily is celebrated for her tongue-in-cheek, emotive storytelling. Her credits include American Girl Live! She holds a Master of Fine Arts from NYU Tisch’s Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Brown University.
